Hilton Worldwide has announced the opening of its first hotel in Asia Pacific under its mid-priced Hampton by Hilton brand.

The 72-room Hampton by Hilton Vadodara-Alkapuri in India is the newest addition to the brand’s more than 1,800 hotels globally.

Phil Cordell, global head, focused service and Hampton brand management, Hilton Worldwide, said: “Hampton Hotels continues to grow its global footprint. With the addition of our first Hampton by Hilton in India this property establishes the brand as a true global brand that is driven by strong developers who understand the value of the Hampton brand and the investment opportunities it has to offer. This is a strong viable hotel brand that meets market demand and the needs of the global traveller”.

The property is operated under a franchise agreement with Baywood Hotels India Pvt. Ltd.

Chris Desai, senior vice president, Baywood Hotels, commented: “We are extremely happy and excited with the launch of this hotel. We take special pride in our partnership with Hilton Worldwide and it’s great to be part of this first Hampton by Hilton hotel in India.

There is untapped demand in the Indian market for top class focused service hotels and we hope to fill it with the launch of Hampton by Hilton which offers the ideal option for savvy travellers who look for great value during their stay. The brand values of Hampton by Hilton will appeal to local travellers and needless to say it will be a seamless extension for global travellers. With its vision and commitment to top service – it’s just a matter of time before we see Hampton by Hilton as a brand that flourishes and becomes a major player in this market as well”.

Hilton Worldwide now manages eight hotels under four brands in India. It will have opened six hotels in India by the end of 2011, and plans to launch four more hotels over the next seven months with the aiming of tripling its presence in the country in the next two years.
