Hilton has signed a management agreement with Premier Hotels and Resorts to manage Hilton Dhaka, Bangladesh in central Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh.

The agreement will see the first Hilton Hotels and Resorts property in Bangladesh and marks Hilton Worldwide’s entry into the country.

Scheduled to open in 2015, the 250-room Hilton Dhaka, Bangladesh is located in Gulshan Avenue, the central business district and commercial zone of Dhaka city and home to majority of the city’s embassies, high commissions and key multi-national companies.

“We have been expanding aggressively across Asia Pacific with a wide range of award-winning brands, and this is a significant milestone for us as it marks both Hilton Worldwide’s and the Hilton brand’s entry into Dhaka, a key financial hub and one of the fastest growing cities in the world. With a strong partner like Premier Hotels and Resorts, we are confident that Hilton Dhaka, Bangladesh will compete well with the existing international and local hotel supply,” said Hilton Worldwide Senior Vice President, Development, Middle East and Asia Pacific, Andrew Clough.

Easily accessible from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (formally known as Zia International Airport), Hilton Dhaka, Bangladesh is located on the main Gulshan Avenue, a preferred residential area for expatriates and diplomats due to its high concentration of upscale residences, restaurants, international schools and recreational facilities.

The hotel will offer one all-day dining restaurant, two specialty restaurants, a deli and lobby lounge as well as a bar. It will also have a full service spa and fitness centre, a roof-top pool, a ballroom, lifestyle meeting floor and car park facilities.

In recent years, Bangladesh has witnessed strong growth in the finance, fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), banking and telecommunications sectors. Dhaka, its capital, is the centre of industrial, commercial, cultural, educational and political activity in Bangladesh and boasts the most developed infrastructure in the country.

“Hilton Dhaka, Bangladesh is Premier Hotels and Resorts’ first collaboration with Hilton Worldwide. We believe that this agreement combines the expertise of a truly global, award-winning hospitality household name with strong local market knowledge. The hotel is one of the tallest buildings in central Dhaka making it a modern landmark for the city, and promises to deliver world-class service to both holiday makers and business travellers,” said Premier Hotels and Resorts Chairman Dr. H.B.M Iqbal.
