Sri Lanka’s hospitality industry is set to come alive on 26, 27 and 28 July, with the industry’s most focused and largest exhibition of its kind in the entire South Asian region ‘Hotel Show 2013’, which is scheduled to be held in Colombo.
‘Hotel Show’ has throughout the years been renowned for its diversity and comprehensiveness in catering to all features and facts of Sri Lanka’s and South Asia’s booming hospitability industry. Sri Lanka is currently on course to being one of the most potent locations for hospitality industry globally with booming infrastructure development projects being carried out throughout the Island.
Many local and global players have joined hands with Sri Lanka to invest and develop hotel projects within the Island in order to accommodate and cater to an ever growing tourism industry that has been steadily ascending.
The Hotel Show 2013 as in the past will comprise almost all facets related to the industry, with all equipments, material, industry related services and all other features relating to the booming market exhibited under one single platform during the exhibition spanning three days.
Hotel Show 2013 organising committee Chairman Trevine Gomez said the organisers of the event have left no stone unturned in ensuring that all exhibitors, sponsors and stakeholders of the industry gain maximum exposure and benefit during the event.
“This is a one of a kind event and will most certainly be the pinnacle of all hospitality related exhibitions. It will as in the past years cater to every service and need related to the industry and will be the only one of its kind exhibition to be held in Sri Lanka,” he said.
The three-day mega bonanza is also scheduled to host a street food carnival which will cater to the public and consist of stalls and action stations from all leading hotels in the country. The street food carnival is set to draw Colombo’s food loving public who are set to patronise the event that has been marketed and advertised throughout this period.
The street food carnival will feature the country’s most talented Chefs who will provide visitors with a wide array of choices to tantalise their taste buds during the event.
However, the main feature of the event is the Sri Lankan finals of the world famous Bocuse d’Or Competition a biennial world chef championship. Named in recognition of the globally acclaimed Master Chef Paul Bocuse, the winner of the Sri Lankan edition of the competition will have the opportunity to thereafter, participate in the Asian finals followed by the main finale to be held in France.
Bocuse d’Or Sri Lanka Chairman Chef Rohan Fernandopulle said that all measures have been taken to host a world class competition during the Hotel Show 2013. “It is a one of kind competition and will feature the Islands most talented chefs. This will provide the best platform for all competitors to showcase their talents and stamp their class globally,” he said.
Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services Director Imran Hassan, the organisers of the event, said that the event will be the best platform to showcase all services and products related to the industry, and will be a moot point for networking and building further connections among stakeholders of the industry.
“This is the only such event where everyone related to this booming industry could meet and network. The event is considered as a bridge and a go between to enhance existing services, innovate and share thoughts and ideas while giving all participants maximum exposure and experience during the three days,” he said.
Hotel Show 2013, organised by the Ceylon Hotel School Graduates Association (CHSGA) in partnership with Presidential award winning exhibition organiser Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services will be an event not to be missed.
