Hotel Sigiriya won three awards at the recently concluded 20th Marie Brizard Regional Cocktail Competition sponsored by Free Lanka Trading (Pvt) Ltd. and conducted by the Ceylon Hotel School Graduates Association. The competition was held on 16 June 2011 for Cultural Triangle hotels.
The competition was held for employees, especially Food & Beverage Staff of tourist hotels in Sri Lanka, in the category, ‘Classic’. Ajith Wickramasinghe was chosen as the 1st Runner-Up in the Classic category while Kasun Diyalagoda was selected as the 2nd Runner-Up and Viraj Madushanka as the 3rd Runner-Up in the same category.
Wickramasinghe who came aboard in 2005 hails from Matale. They have been trained by Hotel Sigiriya’s Bar Supervisor Kingsley, a previous winner, and guided by Lalith Andrew and Saman Devasurendra.
This event was conducted by Ceylon Hotels School Graduates Association which always gives the fullest encouragement to Train staff at all levels attached to the hospitality industry ably led by its President Sarath Fernando and Trevin Gomes assisted by Fritz Fernandez.
