Indian amusement industry delegation will be in Colombo to explore opportunities

A 15 member delegation representing India’s growing Amusement Industry will start a three day tour to Sri Lanka this week in a bid to find potential local partners to set up facilities, here in the island.

The 15 member delegation, an initiative of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will be in the country from 10 to 12 December and hold meetings with potential local partners.
The meetings will be held at the Chamber premises in Nawam Mawatha, where they will meet local businessmen, who are involved in the areas of infrastructure, real estate, hospitality, resort chains, amusement and the entertainment industries.
The Indian team will also meet officials from the local tourism agency and the BOI along with several other government officials.
IAAPI President Yogesh Dange who is heading the delegation says, “Tourism is the core growth sector of Sri Lanka and developing an Amusement Park industry will compliment this very growth, attracting more tourists by offering more excitement and entertainment.”
The delegation members, who are also the members of the Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries (IAAPI) are looking to set up Amusement Parks, Theme Parks, Water Parks, Film Academies, Film Production units, themeing consultancy work and many more related areas in Sri Lanka.
IAAPI, an apex body for amusement, theme parks, water parks, leisure and entertainment centres in India is supported by around 300 affluent members of park operators, consultants and equipment manufacturers.
