Cinnamon Air (www.cinnamonair.com), Sri Lanka’s premier domestic airline, recently hosted the Femina Miss India 2014 finalists on board for a scenic experience flight over Colombo on 15 March. Cinnamon Air operated one of its Cessna 208 Caravan Amphibian aircraft from the Waters Edge water aerodrome to give the finalists an experience they wouldn’t soon forget! The aircraft, piloted by Captain Powel Wolski and First Office Curt Martenstyn, conducted two scenic flights carrying seven finalists, the Zoom TV film crew and members of the organising committee. The experience flights conducted by Cinnamon Air were designed to share the exhilarating experience of taking off and landing on water with the finalists, as well as to give them an unbelievable vantage point from which to view the beautiful countryside, a few thousand feet below. Upon return to the Water’s Edge water aerodrome the finalists exclaimed that this was an “unbelievable experience” and that it was the “best experience [they had] in Sri Lanka!” Finalist Aditi Vats commented on her Facebook Fan page that “it was one of the best experiences as we could see the green patch (Sri Lanka) from the sky being tilted at 180 degrees. I did that for the first time and I am sure I am going to come back here again as everything about this place has magically spellbound me.” Finalist, Sanjana Ganesan posted a video from the flight on to her Facebook fan page and finalist Nikhila Nandgopal considered her ride on an amphibian aircraft as an integral part of a very productive day. Pictures, as well as a short video clip, of the day’s event are available on the Cinnamon Air website and Facebook page.
