Israel sees tourism upsurge

An estimated 3.45-million tourists visited Israel in 2010 according to a preliminary report.

The number of visitors to Israel in 2010 is 14% higher compared to the last record of three-million tourists in 2008.

About one-fifth of the tourists came from the United States, followed by visitors from Russia, France, the United Kingdom and Germany, as reported in eTravel Blackboard. The Israeli ministry will have the final figures later this month.
