Japan’s first lady Akie Abe visits Laksala

Akie Abe, spouse of Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe and Shiranthi Rajapaksa, First Lady of Sri Lanka ceremonially opened the exhibition ‘Dayak Dinawana Eya’ showcasing products by women entrepreneurs on 7 September at 4 p.m. at the Laksala Museum Gallery, Green Path, Colombo 07. The exhibition of crafts, floriculture and processed food products represented women from the SME sector drawn from all the districts of Sri Lanka. This exhibition is organised under the instructions of Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa and in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and Planning.                         Akie Abe will also be donating books to students from Sri Lankan universities at the Laksala Museum Gallery in the presence of Shiranthi Rajapaksa. The donation is made under the Akie Library project organised by the Embassy of Japan, Sri Lanka as stated by Laksala Chairman Anil Koswatte.
