The Galle Face Hotel which is continuously introducing new concepts and ideas to further secure its position in the hotel industry has further stepped up to offer the best in customer services.
Keeping its promise of offering the best at all times, Jason Cooley has joined the Galle Face family as the hotel’s recently appointed General Manager. Jason is an Australian who started off by working in Australia, South Asia, South Pacific and the Maldive Islands. He later moved to Maldives - Adaaran where he provided his services to the Aitken Spence Group. Having worked for some of the leading hotels around the world Jason has now come to Sri Lanka to make a positive difference to the Galle Face Hotel.
“We have a five year plan which is currently in operation for the hotel which will include a few renovations that is scheduled to take place. However, it is not our intention to harm or spoil the original grandeur of the hotel. We hope to retain the charm and beauty of the hotel’s yesteryear whilst enhancing its beauty in every manner possible and thereby build it up to the proper level that does due justice to the ‘Grand Old Lady’. Our five year plan will take place on a step by step basis, therefore we hope to keep the public updated as and when our plans fall into place. We are also looking at successfully catering to the younger generation as well. So, one should expect some very welcoming changes to take place through our five-year transition period”, says Jason.
Having frequently visited Sri Lanka since 2006 Jason feels that Sri Lanka has good potential to make a considerable impact both locally and internationally with regard to the hotel sector. With the war finally over, the country according to him has become a welcoming location to hundreds of tourists from all over the world which is another plus with regard to improving the tourist trade in the country.
Commenting on the hotel’s plans which are set inline with the country’s tourism boom Jason said, “Sri Lanka has so much to offer with the deadly war finally being brought to a victorious end. Now that the country has the ability to showcase its beauty to the rest of the world the future of Sri Lanka’s tourism industry looks very promising. We have very high expectations of where the Galle Face Hotel will be positioned in the future and with the boom in tourism taking place we hope to cater very successfully to the influx of tourists that enter the country.”
