The Nature Trails Team (part of John Keells Resorts) hosted world-renowned photographer Tony Wu at Chaaya Wild in Yala National Park recently. Tony is considered one of the best underwater photographers in the world and decided to do his first terrain-orientated photography safari in Yala with Nature Trails. The purpose of his visit was to explore Yala National Park, it sincredible biodiversity and its major highlight – the leopards. At the end of three days in Yala, Tony said that Sri Lanka had been a pleasant surprise in terms of its people and breathtaking natural world.
Head of Eco Tourism and Special Projects at John Keells Resorts Chitral Jayatilake stated: “Tony familiarised himself with Yala in order to lead a photography safari in the future. Nature-based tourism activities and niche safaris such as these are hugely important not only for the revenue they generate, but also for the exposure they provide in shaping Sri Lanka as a top nature and wildlife destination.”
