Jumeirah Group has won the contract to manage the five-star luxury Grand Hotel Via Veneto in Rome.
Jumeirah will take over the running of the privately-owned hotel and integrate it into its global portfolio of luxury hotels and resorts in early 2012, when the property will be rebranded as Jumeirah Grand Hotel Via Veneto, Rome.
Located in the heart of Rome, on the exclusive via Veneto, the hotel has 122 rooms and suites, a spacious lobby, two fine dining restaurants, a bar, a rooftop solarium and the state-of-the-art Aqva City spa.
Complementing the sleek wood furniture, hand-made by Italian master craftsmen, are large, custom-made Murano glass chandeliers, black granite floors and travertine stairways. The hotel has an impressive art collection of oil paintings and lithographs by such celebrated artists as Picasso, Miró, Nespolo, Dalí, Carrara, Burri, Guttuso and de Chirico, with an original “Plan of Rome” created by Giovanni Battista Nolli in 1748.
The spacious guestrooms have large marble bathrooms with Bvlgari amenities, flat screen HD televisions, complimentary high speed internet and photographic artwork of Rome’s most notable attractions.
The 500-sqm Royal Suite boasts two bedrooms, a dining room, three large Carrara marble bathrooms, a private marble hammam and more than 270 m2 of outdoor terrace with access to an open air hydro-massage.
Many of the rooms overlook the historic Porta Pinciana and the gardens of Villa Borghese just beyond.
Gerald Lawless, Executive Chairman, Jumeirah Group, said, “Jumeirah Grand Hotel Via Veneto is an important and fitting addition to Jumeirah Group’s portfolio of luxury hotels and resorts. It is also a key part of our global expansion plans following our hotel openings in Dubai, Frankfurt, Shanghai, the Maldives and Abu Dhabi this year. From a Dubai perspective, we are also encouraged that it coincides with the launch of Emirates Airlines’ A380 service to Rome.”
With the addition of Jumeirah Grand Hotel Via Veneto, Jumeirah Group now has five luxury properties under management in Europe – Jumeirah Carlton Tower, Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel and the recently announced Grosvenor House Apartments by Jumeirah Living in London; and Jumeirah Frankfurt in Germany. In Spring 2012 the company will open Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa in Mallorca, Spain.
