Kassapa Lions Rock awarded prestigious ISO 22000 and HACCP certification

01Kassapa Lions Rock has achieved another milestone, being awarded prestigious certification in Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), a Food Safety Management System ISO 22000.

“The attainment of the HACCP certification increases our clients’ confidence in our service standards and also improves our values both regionally and internationally,” says the Kassapa Lions Rock Chairman Nilan Wickramasinghe.

He said that food safety being a global concern, Kassapa Lions Rock’s entire team has given its full commitment to assuring its valued clients that food safety is a global priority. They have engaged in implementing the requirements of ISO 22000 by involving employees through training and providing management support to ensure that the set quality, food safety objectives and targets are achieved within the agreed ISO standards. He added that the entire team (supplier selection, evaluation, storage, monitoring of critical control points, staff hygiene, staff training, etc) has demonstrated commitment and compliance to international standards in order to achieve this certification.

The certification was awarded after a very stringent evaluation and auditing process by world-renowned certification agency SGS Switzerland through its local office. The consultancy services for the total system implementation were provided by Nexus Business Solutions Ltd, a leading consultancy firm in Sri Lanka.  

“We are particularly proud to have obtained ISO 22000:2005 certification as well as be compliant with HACPP standards. Food safety is one of our top priorities.
