Lankan arrested in Stockholm for bomb threat on an Emirates flight

Stockholm: A Sri Lankan man has been arrested by Police at Stockholm’s Arlanda Airport for making a bomb threat on an Emirates Airline flight bound for Stockholm.
According to a report by the TT news agency, the man who boarded the Emirates airline flight from Dubai has rushed through the cabin and attempted to enter the cockpit of the plane claiming he had a bomb.
The passengers who witnessed the incident have said that the man was shouting and trying to break into the cockpit. The cabin crew had managed to wrestle the man to the floor and put cable ties around his arms, the report said
The man was reportedly lying on the floor for the remainder of the flight and kept stable until he was handed over to the border police at Arlanda Airport.
The man was taken in for questioning and subsequently arrested on suspicion of attempted aviation sabotage, TT said. The suspect’s name hasn’t been released.
Lars-Ola Nordqvist, a spokesman for the airline has confirmed that a man on flight EK157 “started shouting and left his seat” and ignored crew warnings to settle down. However, no one was believed to be injured in the incident, the spokesman has said.
