Bags another one at World Luxury Hotel Awards 2013

To top off an incredible second year so far, Maalu Maalu Resort & Spa, Passekudah was awarded at the World Luxury Hotel Awards held in Phuket, Thailand recently. Placed as the ‘Best Luxury Family Hotel, Continent in Indian Ocean Category’, this is yet another defining moment for the theme resort and its management.

The popular East Coast resort has received many international accolades as well as awards in the two years it has been in operation. However, it continues to push forward; not resting on its laurels, but always striving to create the perfect paradise in Passekudah for its guests.

“We have been honoured by The World Luxury Hotel Awards with this award for our family friendly resort,” stated Chairman and Managing Director of the Resort, Chandra Wickramasinghe. “One particular feedback we constantly receive is how refreshingly friendly and helpful our staff are. This is a huge matter of satisfaction to me, as we hire almost 70% of our staff from the surrounding area, and they are a tribute to themselves and how far they have come in the past few years,” said Wickramasinghe. The World Luxury Hotel Awards is considered the Oscars for hotel awards and is one of the most sought after award for hotels and resorts of every category looking forward to. This year’s awards ceremony held at Indigo Pearl Resort Phuket, Thailand, was truly a night to remember to all its winners and participants.
