Maldives taps in to India’s weddings and honeymoon market

The Vivaha Bride Fair, one of the most exclusive wedding exhibitions in India was held from 31 July to 2 Aug in New Delhi, India. This exhibition portrays finest wedding indulgence, graciousness, luxury and fashion. Vivaha has become the largest consumer wedding trade fair and vintage lifestyle exhibition in the whole of India.

This fair attracts a remarkable number of future newlyweds, which is the majority of the Indian market travelling to the Maldives. Promoting the natural beauty and the romantic side of Maldives especially for the honeymoon seekers, the participation of this consumer fair is expected to increase the number of tourists visiting the Maldives for their honeymoon from India. The Indian market holds 4% of the percentage share so far in 2015 proving to be a very imperative market to the tourism of Maldives. 

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation participated in the fair along with four other co-exhibitors from the industry. The stand and concept design was customised to highlight the seclusion, privacy, romance and tranquil environment of the Maldives as a destination, all of which makes it the perfect getaway for a honeymoon vacation. The Vivaha Bridal Fair delivered maximum exposure to potential visitors during the three-day event and is anticipated to boost the number of honeymoon visitors in the future.
