Maldives to participate as hosts in ITB fair

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has stated that Maldives will participate in the upcoming ITB fair as the host nation.

The fair to be held from 10 – 16 March 2013 in Berlin, Germany will be visited by thousands of people. Travel agents and tour operators from around the world will take part in the fair. More than 10,000 participants and 3,000 guests visited last year’s ITB fair.

MMPRC is getting ready to organise many activities in the Maldives stall at the fair following the decision to make Maldives the host nation.

MMPRC has already announced to seek a manager to plan the activities at the stall. The corporation said in addition to many traditional activities, Maldivian musicians will also be perform at the stall. While Maldives has been selected as the host country of the fair, the Tourism Ministry has targeted one million tourists to the Maldives this year.

Maldives had previously been selected as host country in similar fairs across the world.
