Famous Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala arrived in Sri Lanka on the night of 16 May via UL 423 from Bankok at 11:30.
She was warmly welcomed by Sri Lanka Tourism and Light of Asia Foundation officials.
Koirala is scheduled to participate in the International Buddhist Film Festival which will be held from 18 to 22 May at the BMICH, Colombo.
This Buddhist Film Festival is organised by the Light of Asia Foundation, with which Sri Lanka Tourism has joined hands to sponsor the event.
Commenting on her visit, Koirala said: “This is my first visit to Sri Lanka... I am delighted with the warm welcome received.”
Alongside Koirala’s arrival, many other mega film stars are scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka during the next couple of days, including Jet Li, Deep Roy, Allen J. Freedman and Steven Seagal.
The Buddhist Film Festival has been organised to celebrate the 2,600th Sri Sambuddhathva Jayanthi. Countries like Sri Lanka China, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Myanmar and India, amongst others, will be forwarding their films for this festival.
