Under a joint program between the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau and SriLankan Airlines with the assistance of the MICE industry, a successful tour was conducted for over 75 MICE operators, viz meetings, planners, and incentive houses, as well as Indian media.
They were taken to Bentota, Sigiriya, Kandy and Colombo, the main points where meetings and incentive travel take place with Indian visitors. Vipula Wanigasekera, General Manager of the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, Chantal Samarasinge of SriLankan Airlines and Paddy Paul from the Sri Lanka Association of Professional Conference and Exhibition Organisers addressed the delegation and they were hosted for one-to-one meetings with the Sri Lankan industry and a cocktail in Colombo. “There will be a series of such visits which will enable us to trigger fresh interest for MICE visits from India to Sri Lanka,” said Wanigasekera.
