The National Geographic Television channel has selected Sri Lanka as the location for their first ever photography based reality show.

Filming of the reality show has begun at locations across the Cinnamon chain of Hotels and Resorts and made its way to Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo this week where celebrity judges Ashima Narain, Ami Vitale, Nagesh Kukundor and presenter Shibani Dandekar conducted an elimination round of the program.

The crew chose the hotel’s poolside terrace for their shoot in Colombo. The composition of the hotel’s pool and Beira Lake view created a stunning natural backdrop for the elimination round that was shot there.

Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo is interestingly known for its share of nature in the form of bird life owing to its location directly adjacent to the Beira Lake. The pictures taken will tell a story that is uniquely Sri Lankan, summing up the true essence of ‘Cinnamon’.

Leading the way as the trendsetter in the hospitality industry, Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts is proud to once again lend its locations to an international film crew. As the key hospitality partner, the hotel chain is instrumental in portraying Sri Lanka as an ideal tourist destination. With the high viewership of the Nat Geo channel, Sri Lanka will receive the highest level of exposure it has received from an international TV Channel.

Photography, as a hobby and a profession, has gathered a strong following where individuals with passion for creativity and a desire to become extraordinary are able to explore their talents.

The ‘National Geographic Mission Cover Shot’ is the first-ever photography based reality show where the elimination rounds are carried out across Sri Lanka. Eight photographers compete in a variety of photo challenges that tests their photographic excellence for the ultimate title of ‘Nat Geo’s Mission Cover Shot’ photographer.
