The National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) will participate in the Hotel Asia exhibition, which will be held in Male in the Maldives from 5-7 September.

This is the sixth successive time that the NCE will participate in this Hotel Asia event.

The Hotel Asia Exhibition and Culinary Challenge is the biggest gathering of hospitality industry professionals in the Maldives and attracts all levels of decision-makers from the industry. As with the previous year’s event, Hotel Asia 2016 will consist of exhibitors from Sri Lanka, India, the Maldives and Pakistan.

Visitors from the food processing industries, catering and hospitality industries, restaurant owners, bakers, design firms, caterers, specialty food services establishments and people connected to the industry have been invited by the organisers to source their requirements from participants at the exhibition.

Chefs and personnel from the purchasing departments of almost all the Maldivian resorts are expected to visit the event and source products of their interest exhibited by Sri Lankan exhibitors.

Five companies will exhibit their products at the NCE pavilion. They are Vegiland Exporters Ltd., HS Fabrics Ltd., Dankotuwa Porcelain Plc, Sunshine Creations and Fanam International Ltd. These companies are participating under the NCE banner.

The event will also host The Culinary Challenge, which is a highly anticipated facet of Hotel Asia. Chefs and service personnel from the best Maldivian resorts and from other participating nations will vie for top honours at the competition.

The Culinary Challenge itself adds a unique and diverse facet to the event, placing the best talent in the region on one common platform. The awards and certificates that are given in recognition of the skills and quality of the chefs are regarded as world-class international endorsements.

The NCE will provide a complete package to its delegates including stall reservations, the reservation of hotel and air tickets and the facilitation of sample shipments. The NCE will also arrange meetings for participants with buyers in some of the Maldivian resorts, based on the profiles of the delegates.

The main objective of the NCE is to promote the products and services of member companies of the Chamber as well as non-members at various international trade shows, to support the effort of the Sri Lankan Government to accelerate exports to achieve national export targets.

In the future, the NCE plans to participate in other international trade shows that are beneficial to Sri Lankan exporters.
