ON14 at OZO Colombo brings World Music Day 2017 to Colombo

World Music Day is celebrated globally on 21 June and OZO Colombo intends to celebrate music in Sri Lanka for the second consecutive year by bringing together more than 15 musicians and DJ’s to showcase the country’s various genres of music. The festival of music originated in France with the belief that “the music is everywhere and the concert, nowhere”. This year ON14 will have a cross section of musicians who will either play music or discuss their experiences in the music industry and what inspired them to take their journey into music.

The celebration of World Music Day will begin at 5 p.m. at ON14, OZO Colombo. The attending amateur and professional musicians will include Shafi, Damien, Nikhil, John, Harshana, Ray, Izzy, G.o.A and K Mac. The line-up of DJs for the evening includes ON14’s very own Tim, as well as DJs Ricardo Deen, Yazz, Nigel, Akila, Suresh (Dr. J), Pradeep, Ross, Stefan Rajendran and Clifford Issac. The theme they would be following for the evening would be about how they are driven by and can inspire people with music.

This music festival has become an international phenomenon and is celebrated on the same day in more than 700 cities in 120 countries, including China, India, Germany, Italy, Greece, Russia, Australia, Peru, Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico, Canada, the United States, and Japan.
