Orient Insurance launches new policy for travellers

Orient Insurance Sri Lanka last week launched its newest policy ‘Travel Care’ for individuals and institutions.
A member of the UAE-based Al Futtaim Group, Orient Insurance’s Travel Care is a unique comprehensive policy that meets both personal and corporate travel needs during an outbound journey, overseas stay or when returning home.
For the new product, Orient Insurance has tied up with international claims settlement provider Speciality Asset and software specialist Jupiter Mars Technologies. The launch of the new policy saw the presence of Orient Insurance Sri Lanka Chairman Omer Elamin, who is also the President of Orient Group of UAE, Vice Chairman Tilak De Zoysa, Orient Insurance CEO Ainsley Alles, Travel Agents Association of Sri Lanka President Nishantha Seneviratne and International Travel Agents Association of Sri Lanka President Riza Ahamat.
The company said the new policy was in response to growing need in the market for a total travel insurance solution. The policy is also easy to issue and travel agents can benefit from a seamless and convenient process which enables them to offer customers comprehensive travel insurance at an affordable price.
It allows policyholders to receive assistance when dealing with lost luggage, lost passport, and government and consulate liaisons. The policy covers personal injury/death, medical expenses and evacuation costs incurred due to accidents or sickness. Furthermore, it also covers emergency travel assistance such as hotel booking, ticketing, additional cash and baggage delays.
Travel care additionally protects customers from disruption in travel due to hijacking, legal liability arising from personal negligence and expenses due to trip delays and cancellations.Orient Insurance Sri Lanka Chief Executive Officer Ainsley Alles said Travel Care is tailored to cover all eventualities and aims at providing all policyholders peace of mind throughout their journey. Calling it an ideal package for families, students, entrepreneurs and company employees, Alles said: “The policy is easy to issue and travel agents benefit from a seamless and convenient process which will enable them to offer customers comprehensive travel insurance at an affordable price.”
He added that with the launch of Travel Care, customers of Orient Insurance are well protected and are offered with the best travel insurance policy at a reasonable price.
Orient Insurance Sri Lanka has been in operation since December 2011 as a general insurance company licensed by the Insurance board of Sri Lanka. The company handles all classes of general insurance namely fire, motor, marine import and export, and property insurance. The company also offers casualty, accident, liability, and medical insurance covers.
Orient Insurance Sri Lanka and Orient Insurance OJSC are part of the Al-Futtaim Group which has been in operation since 1930 and is one of the most diversified business conglomerates based in the UAE.
