Pegasus Reef Hotel unveils new ballroom after Rs. 60 m upgrade

Pegasus Reef Hotel recently unveiled its newly refurbished ballroom thereby further enhancing its product offering to its ever increasing clientele.
This Rs. 60 million refurbishment project which took nearly three months to complete, included exciting new fabric wall paper, brand new carpeting in tones of red with yellow and beige, a state-of-the-art lighting system and the installation of modern specially designed chandeliers thereby adding to its aesthetic appeal. A new sound proof partition also enables the ballroom to be divided into two sections thereby increasing its overall productivity.
Veteran hotelier and Director of the Pegasus Reef Hotel Paddy Withana said: “This ambitious refurbishment project gives the hotel a leading edge and has been warmly welcomed by our large clientele north of Colombo and spread across all adjacent areas.
The 1200 sq metre ballroom can now accommodate up to 800 pax for cocktails and nearly 600 pax for weddings. It can also be used theatre-style, classroom-style and boardroom-style. A sound proof partition system also enables the newly refurbished ballroom to be divided into two independent venues, Rantambara and Sobara, thereby increasing its overall productivity.
“Our target clientele is a healthy mix of local and foreign clients and represent the business, leisure tourism and transit segments. Offering views of the garden and sea, the Pegasus Reef Hotel’s 140 spacious standard rooms and suite are equipped with central air-conditioning, TV, telephone, mini-bar, wireless internet service ( WI FI), attached baths with hot and cold water and private balconies.
With an open air restaurant that seats 200 pax at a time, the hotel also has a coffee and pastry shop, a shopping arcade with gems and other miscellaneous items for shoppers, 24-hour room service, an in-house travel counter, laundry service, safety lockers, left luggage facilities and foreign currency encashment facilities.
Pegasus Reef Hotel is highly reputed for its garden weddings, its beach parties and its large outings on the north lawn.
