Qatar Airways launches #Destigram

DOHA, Qatar: Qatar Airways has recently launched its first international Instagram contest: ‘#Destigram’. Visitors are encouraged to share a photo of one of the eight new Qatar Airways destinations announced by the airline. These destinations include:  
  • Dubai, UAE – (Dubai World Central #DWC)
  • Sharjah, UAE (#SHJ)
  • Philadelphia, USA (#PHL)
  • Larnaca, Cyprus (#LCA)
  • Istanbul, Turkey (SabihaGökçen International Airport #SAW)
  • Edinburgh, Scotland (#EDI)
  • Miami, USA (#MIA)
  • Dallas/Fort Worth, USA (#DFW)
Visitors simply share their photos taken from any of these eight cities or regions. Users then add the hashtags #Destigram and a hashtag for the corresponding city/airport code. Entrants are also encouraged to tell the world something great about their photo. This multi-platform contest is hosted on the airline’s social media sites – www.instagram.com/qatarairways, www.twitter.com/qatarairways, and at www.facebook.com/qatarairways. There is an amazing line-up of prizes for #Destigram participants; 10 prizes in all, including four flight tickets and 1.6 million Qatar Airways Privilege Club Qmiles. Prizes include eight lucky-draw prizes of 200,000 Qatar Airways Privilege Club Qmiles each, which are valid on all 13 oneworld airlines worldwide. In addition, the two best photos based on a combination of public votes and a third party voting panel of judges will receive tickets. The two winners will receive a pair of Qatar Airways Business Class or Economy Class flights on the airline’s maiden voyage to or from one of the eight featured destinations. Entrants are encouraged to participate and get votes from their social networks to increase their chances of winning. No purchases are necessary. Winners will be announced on 3 March 2014.
