Ranfer Travels undertakes second excursion to Jaffna

Jaffna remains much the buzz word within the international and domestic tourism. It’s historic past and the fascinating features of nature’s providence continue to place the entire peninsular as a key tourist destination of the country. Ranfer Travels is scheduled to embark its 2nd exciting excursion on 14 February. On the way to Jaffna there will be a night’s stay at Anuradhapura, newly refurbished 3 star Nuwarawewa R.H. (as known as the Lakeside at Nuwarawewa now).This property was the address in town during the 1970 decade and one may recollect the heydays of Quickshaws. The group will also have a tour of the ancient city on 14 February afternoon/evening. On 15 February the group will proceed to Jaffna via Vavuniya, Kilinochchi and Elephant Pass. The group will stay atPillaiyar Inn for a two night stay. While in Jaffna the group will visit Nilavarai (Bottomless well), Naga Poosani Ambal Kovil, Kantharodai (Kadurugoda Viharaya), Dambakolapatuna, Keerimalei ,Naguleshwaran Kovil, Jaffna Library, Jaffna Museum, Point Pedro, KKS/VVT, Nallur Kovil, Jaffna Fort as well as St. John’s College, St. Patricks College and Vambadi Girls School. A visit to Tholagatha Farm, where Catholic nuns make various kinds of jams, chutneys, cordials and wines (for purchase as well) is also in the cards. On 17 February the group will travel back to Colombo with a lunch stop in Medawachchiya. Transportation will be by luxury coach, with AC, CD, DVD, PA system and cool box.
