Shangri-La’s second hotel in Harbin, China will open in December 2016.
The 344-room Songbei Shangri-La, Harbin occupies a prime position on the edge of the Songhua River’s north bank.
The hotel is located a mere five-minute drive from Harbin’s internationally renowned ice festival at the Ice & Snow World, and close to local attractions namely the Sun Island Garden, Siberian Tiger Park and Harbin Great Theatre.
The international airport and Harbin West Railway Station are 40 minutes and 30 minutes away respectively.
“Having the opportunity to introduce a second Shangri-La in Harbin and ahead of the ice festival is exciting,” said General Manager of Songbei Shangri-La, Harbin, Tyson Wang. “Our intentions are to deliver rich and unique experiences that not only embrace the vibrancy of the fabled city of ice, but also the hospitality of the Shangri-La brand from the arrival experience through to service details, culinary inspiration and our luxurious living spaces.”
Dining options at the new hotel include Shang Kitchen, an upscale Chinese restaurant for Peking roast duck, earthen casserole dishes and regional specialties. Café Song, an all-day dining restaurant is a theatre concept of open kitchens serving Asian and Western favourites, while Grab & Go will provide a selection of gourmet pub food for take away. The Lobby Lounge will serve classic high tea and refreshments throughout the day and De Drunk’n Pig will be perfect for entertaining and live music in the evening.
The hotel’s extensive meeting facilities include Songbei’s largest pillarless ballroom, which covers 1,616 square metres and seats up to 1,000 guests for receptions. An additional ballroom at 408 square metres and two function rooms will also be available.
The Songbei Shangri-La, Harbin will also feature a spa, indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and fitness centre.
