SINGAPORE: The Republic of Singapore will play host to the 103rd Lions Clubs International Convention, which is expected to generate more than S$58 million in tourism receipts, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) said on Tuesday (19).
The Lions Clubs Singapore will partner the Singapore Exhibition and Conventions Bureau (SECB) to present the annual convention in 2020, which is expected to draw an estimated 20,000 foreign attendees – making it the largest association congress ever to be held here, the agency said.
“Singapore was selected over five other cities from around the world for her world-class hotels, restaurants, and convention facilities, as well as an excellent transportation network. Lions are looking forward to a successful convention and wonderful time in this beautiful city,” shared Joseph Wroblewski, Convention Committee Chairperson and Past International President of Lions Clubs International.
Charlie Chan, International Director of Lions Club International, added that the group was “thrilled” that Singapore won the bid. “We are really excited to partner STB in delivering a memorable event for Lions members from all over the world.”
