SLAITO elects new team with Mahen as Chief

The 32nd Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO) was held at The Sands in Kalutara, Sri Lanka on 29 June.

The new committee of SLAITO consists of Mahen Kariyawasan (President), T.M.F Packeer (Vice President), Devindre Senaratne (Hon. SLAITO was formed by Destination Management Companies who have grouped together and created an association in order to lobby on behalf of DMC’s who receive foreign tourists to Sri Lanka. Other members include foreign tour operators and charter airlines. SLAITO is the most influential association guiding and advising those policy makers in positioning Sri Lanka at the forefront of the global tourism arena.    

SLAITO launched its new logo first and foremost to its members at the 32nd Annual General Meeting as it was felt that SLAITO should reposition itself with the new logo and a new look. A new logo which is vibrant and modern and it incorporates a Sri Lankan identity and enhances the brand SLAITO. It was created as an icon to establish its uniqueness and determine the strength and stability of the industry. The new logo colours depicted are green for Mother Nature’s bounty, orange to depict the secure and comfort, Grey for the heritage and standard of excellence, and yellow to depict the rays of the sun to foster growth and black as strength and foundation.
