In line with the Government policy of entering new tourism markets, particularly in Asia where there is greater potential in tourism, the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB) and SriLankan Airlines carried out a joint promotion in Karachi.
The promotion enabled Sri Lankan industry members to have one-to-one meetings and interaction sessions with 130 outbound agents, especially operators specialising in MICE tourism (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions).
SLCB made a comprehensive presentation to the audience covering infrastructure development, new tourism locations and new products as well as new and unique attractions in Sri Lanka while SriLankan spelt out its future plans in the region.
