SLCB, THASL continue with MICE training

The second MICE training program that took place covered the Kalutara-Beruwala area at which hotel employees were given operational training on MICE activities (Meetings Incentive Travel, Conference and Exhibitions). Emphasis was mainly on incentive travel handling where the customer expectations are higher than those of leisure travellers.

The regional training will continue until end of the year, thus providing opportunities to hotel employees, particularly those who are otherwise unable to participate in training programs of this nature. “This year, we decided to go to their doorstep with the help of the Hotels’ Association (THASL) and the speakers are experts in the relevant MICE fields,” said Vipula Wanigasekera, General Manager of the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau. The industry experts were Darni Zosa, Upul Gamage, Shyana Jayalath and Achini Dandunnage.

The next program is scheduled to be held in Dambulla, organised by Cultural Triangle Hotels Association
