The annual “IFTM TOP RESA” (International French Travel Market) was held in Paris with the participation of more than 1200 companies, including several Chief Executives from well established travel companies in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka’s participation was facilitated by the Embassy of Sri Lanka in France in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau. Ambassador to France, Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka and Sanja Jayatilleka lit the traditional oil lamp to declare open the Sri Lankan pavilion.
A special tea serving event was also conducted by the Sri Lanka Embassy in Paris in association with the Sri Lanka Tea Board on all four days of the fair. Several visitors to the Sri Lanka pavilion expressed a keen interest in visiting Sri Lanka given the large number of outdoor activities available in the country all year round. From wildlife and nature sanctuaries to kayaking , canoeing and white water rafting as well as snorkeling and scuba diving and whale and dolphin watching, among a myriad other activities in varying terrain from the golden beaches to the tea capped mountains and from lush forests to ecologically friendly environments, Sri Lanka has much to offer the adventurous traveller.
