Sri Lanka is competing with the region to bid for the IFCA (International Financial Cryptography Association) International Conference in 2016.
Towards getting this event for Sri Lanka, the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau together with SriLankan Airlines invited Rafael Hirschfeld, the Coordinator of the event, for a site inspection recently. The contact emerged during SLCB participation at the IMEX held last year in Frankfurt.
The conference was held in Barbados in 2014 and this year it was held in Puerto Rico in January. This is a prestigious event and the conference is a week long event, held usually in January/February. The number of delegates will be around 150 top professionals in the financial security sector.
“We are keen to have this event in Sri Lanka because it not only contributes to the efforts to raise the profile of Sri Lanka for upscale clientele but the delegates also usually take a two-week holiday for a round trip in the country where the conference is held,” said Sri Lanka Convention Bureau CEO Vipula Wanigasekera.
