Realising the importance of Indian corporate meetings and incentive travel, the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB) revived joint promotions with AMCHAM Sri Lanka and SriLankan Airlines for two days in Gurgaon and in New Delhi.
The Sri Lanka delegation was led by Sri Lanka Convention Bureau Chairman Prema Cooray along with a delegation of leading Sri Lankan MICE operators and hoteliers. It was a two full days with over 100 corporates meeting with the travel planners and tour operators mainly for MICE (Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conferences and Events) travels.
SLCB had the opportunity to present to the media as well as to the Indian travel industry why Sri Lanka should be their next choice for MICE event with the new locations and products that are on offer for MICE activities while SriLankan Airlines explained their plans for India.
The events were also attended by High Commissioner Esala Weerakoon, Deputy High Commissioner Lenagala, Principal Adviser (Special Project) CII C. Sen, IATO (Indian Association of Travel Operators) President Subash Goyal, SriLankan Airlines Manger – North India Chinthaka Weerasinghe and AMCHAM Sri Lanka President Asanka Rathnayake.
