The theme of the Jamboree was ‘Wa: A Spirit of Unity’, meaning harmony, unity or togetherness. This was an ideal platform to highlight Sri Lanka’s unique culture, heritage and diversity.
The Sri Lankan Day was celebrated at the Jamboree with a typical Sri Lankan Food Festival whilst the culture was depicted with a colorful Perahera.
The Prince of Japan together with the Prime Minister of Japan visited the Jamboree site as the Chief Guests on International Day whilst the Saudi Prince also visited the Jamboree. This gave major exposure to Sri Lanka, a communiqué from the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotions Bureau noted.
