Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Chief to address AIT

Recognised for its multinational, multicultural ethos better known as the University of the United Nations – Asian Institute of Technology, will savour the diversity, compactness and authenticity of beautiful Sri Lanka when its Tourism Promotions Bureau Chairman Rohantha Athukorala addresses its business graduates on ‘Does heritage and culture drive tourism in a country?’ 

The case study under discussion will be the UNESCO heritage site Sigiriya which is termed one of the best works of urban planning sites. The audience will include professionals from the Thailand Tourism industry, academia and guests.

AIT’s mission is ‘To develop highly qualified and committed professionals who play leading roles in the region’s sustainable development and its integration into the global economy’.

Besides the usual labs and academic buildings, the main campus includes housing, sports, and medical facilities, a conference centre and a library with over 230,000 volumes and 830 print and on-line periodicals which has developed some of the leading professionals in the Asia Pacific region.
