Sri Lankans visiting Singapore rise by 10% to 102,000 in 2016

01Singapore Tourism Board and Singapore Airlines last week jointly held a media briefing to promote the destination with STB South Asia, Middle East and Africa Regional Director G. B. Srithar in attendance. It was stated that Colombo is among the top five exit cities in South Asia in 2016 in terms of visitor arrivals for Singapore that indicates a boom in outbound tourism. Sri Lankans visiting Singapore for one night or more had increased by 10% to 101,905 last year. In the first quarter of this year the figure amounted 31,579.

Singapore operates seven times weekly services on the A330 aircraft between Colombo and Singapore, while its regional wing SilkAir, which started operations to Colombo this year, operates three times weekly between Colombo and Singapore in the mornings.
