SriLankan Airlines welcomes back Everest conquerors

SriLankan Airlines, the Official Airline Sponsor of Sri Lanka’s first-ever expedition to successfully conquer Mount Everest, welcomed home mountaineers Jayanthi Kuru-Utumpala and Johann Peries who have etched their names in history, at a special ceremony at Hilton Colombo on Monday (30 May).

Speaking at a media briefing, SriLankan Airlines’ Chairman Ajith Dias praised the achievement of the duo. “The achievement made by Jayanthi and Johann clearly reflects an inspiration for all of us that if you have a determination and objective, you can achieve anything you dream of. This what Jayanthi and Johan proved us today an inspiration to all Sri Lankans,” said Dias.

Kuru-Utumpala and Peries expressed their gratitude to SriLankan Airlines for supporting their historic expedition as the Airline sponsor.
