Thai Airways has signed onto Abacus’ reservation inventory participation through Abacus Direct Connect Availability (DCA).

Abacus, Asia’s leading provider of travel solutions and services, is the first Global Distribution System (GDS) to provide revenue management tools like Journey Data, Married Segment and PNR Synchronisation, and this “seamless connectivity” will boost Thai Airways’ reach to their international market.

With Abacus DCA, Thai Airways’ own central reservation system will be connected directly to the GDS, enabling Abacus subscribers to receive real-time flight information from Thai Airways’ own reservation system. Simultaneously, Thai Airways will also have the power to exercise point of sale (POS) quota allocation and control the type of queries received from the Abacus system, giving them the flexibility over their flight inventory.

Flight data can also be easily integrated with Thai Airways’ origin and destination revenue management system to enhance their inventory display in preferred markets and for preferred customers.

“We are privileged to be selected as the first GDS to have seamless access to Thai Airways’ inventory,” said Ho Hoong Mau, Division Head of Airline Distribution of Abacus International. “Abacus continuously strives to be the revenue partner for airlines and to offer the most effective channel for airlines such as Thai Airways to reach out to their customers.”

“Joining forces with Abacus is only the first step in our goals of further expansion regionally,” expressed Chumnan Chiengkul, Manager, Passenger Inventory, Thai Airways. “We are confident that Abacus’ extensive network of travel agents across Asia will allow us to provide more services to more agents and passengers.”
