The Blue Water crowned ‘Best MICE Operations Conference Hotel’

At the fifth Annual Sri Lanka Tourism Awards 2012, The Blue Water was crowned as the ‘Best MICE Operations – Conference Hotel of the Year 2011’ by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority at a glamorous ceremony held in Colombo on 30 August 2012.

The hotel, with facilities for events and weddings, opened its Grand Ballroom in 2010 with capacity up to 1,000 persons and its lush gardens are an ideal location for any MICE event or wedding, be it Sri Lankan or foreign.

With plans to add 40 luxurious suites in the near future, The Blue Water is one of Sri Lanka’s premier beach resorts for the discerning traveller, be it for business, leisure or events.

The hotel designed by the legendary architect Geoffrey Bawa, situated 45 minutes from the City of Colombo, is ideally suited for corporate events and is very popular amongst Sri Lankans for outdoor weddings.

General Manager Roshan Perera accepting the award stated that execution of good strategy and great team work earned them this award. “We are very pleased of our achievements and we will always continue to strive to be the best in class,” he added.
