Three Amaya Resorts and Spa properties have been selected to join the exclusive Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) brand. The selection is the culmination of significant developments that were made to each of the properties, both in terms of service standards and facilities. The three properties, comprising Signature by Amaya, Hunas Falls by Amaya and Langdale by Amaya, will incorporate the SLH branding along with a comprehensive set of luxury services and amenities to cater to the properties’ niche clientele.                   Signature by Amaya Situated in the lush tropical woodlands of Dambulla, Signature by Amaya is the luxury tourism market leader in Sri Lanka’s famed cultural triangle and features 24 stylishly decorated luxury villas furnished with state-of-the-art designer fittings and immaculate blend of furnishing. Guests are also provided access to a 24/7 butler and valet services to attend to their every need. Adding to the guest experience is its fine-dining gourmet restaurant featuring a remarkable fusion of local and international cuisine and panoramic views of the picturesque Kandalama Lake. Signature by Amaya also offers guests a host of activities, Ayurveda spa treatments, serene landscaped gardens and a relaxing, mood-lit infinity pool with a striking view of the lake and surrounding landscape. The colossal investment for this property was carefully planned and executed in order to enhance the guest experience. In addition, Signature by Amaya’s stunning location and exemplary service standards were also among the features for which the property was selected to join SLH.       Hunas Falls by Amaya Tucked away among the spectacular waterfalls and scenery of the Hunassgiriya mountain ranges and situated approximately an hour drive from Kandy, Hunas Falls by Amaya is a luxurious 31 room resort comprised of 28 deluxe rooms and 3 suites arranged along two stories, each offering dazzling views of the misty peaks of the Matale mountain range. Designed with peace and relaxation in mind, the property was selected by SLH for its breathtaking location and unparalleled levels of service. Hunas Falls guests have a range of dining options to choose from including various destinations in and around the resort such as the bar terrace, golf pavilion, boat house by the lake or pool and several other locations. The resort features an extensive selection of Sri Lanka’s finest teas, which can be experienced during the elegant High Tea Tasting, in addition to an amazing wine list with over 100 exclusive imported wines. The property’s secluded location and lavish suites are ideal for honeymooning couples, families looking for a quiet getaway or adventurous travellers who can embark on guided tours of the many trekking sites situated in close proximity to the resort. Guests will also have access to a plethora of other activities including bird watching, hiking, mountain trekking, golfing, and boat rides. Hunas Falls by Amaya has recently undergone extensive renovations, on an investment of $ 3 million. The resort now boasts luxuriously new guest rooms and suites, an impressive new lobby, swimming pool, bar deck, library, conference and banquet rooms, children’s rooms and even a perfectly done up picturesque road way all the way to the resort. The property was recognised for its green initiatives, winning the EU Switch Asia Greening Award for 2013 and the Best Sustainable Hotel in Asia Pacific Award at the International Hotel Awards 2014 and has already been nominated for the World Luxury Hotel Awards 2015.     Langdale by Amaya An award winning 13-room boutique property located in Nuwara Eliya, Langdale by Amaya offers an unmatched colonial charm with the only heated outdoor pool and lawn tennis courts in the area, the latter of which provides guests with the closest thing to a Wimbledon experience in Sri Lanka. At this hideaway in the mountains, delicate nuances of old-world charm can be vividly captured from the paintings that adorn the walls to the earthy tones of the rooms where guests can savour a warm cup of tea or indulge in locally grown and produced strawberries and cream while taking in the breathtaking panoramic views of the famed tea estates of Nuwara Eliya, all of which led to Langdale’s selection by SLH. Guests are also given the option to choose from their own tailor-made excursions and activities which include trekking, mountain climbing and cycling. Already well-reputed, Langdale has won the coveted Best Romantic Hotel in Sri Lanka award at the World Luxury Hotel Awards 2014, in addition to further recognition at the European Union Spa Awards 2014 and the BID Gold Quality Crown Award 2014.
