The Mahaweli Reach Hotel hosts Central Province Governor’s lunch for Bhutan PM

  Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bhutan Tshering Tobgay, Tashi Doma and the visiting delegation from Bhutan were hosted to lunch by the Central Province Governor Surangani Ellawala at The Mahaweli Reach Hotel on Saturday 11 April during the Prime Minister’s recent state visit to the country. The event had an Avurudu theme with the venue being transformed to depict a paddy field during the harvest. Enhancing the ambience was the music provided by a band consisting of members who are visually impaired. This band makes regular appearances at the hotel and impressed the Prime Minister with their talent. Also gracing the occasion were Minister of Food Protection Gamini Jayawickrama Perera, Mrs. Jayawickrama Perera, Minister of Plantation and Industries Lakshman Kiriella, Chief Minister of the Central Province Sarath Ekanayake, Mrs. Ekanayake, Mayor of Kandy Mahendra Ratwatte, Mrs. Ratwatte and officials of the Foreign Ministry.
