The Sri Lanka Collection is now in a position to recommend some of the best private villas in Sri Lanka. UK tour operators repeatedly ask us for our villa recommendations in Sri Lanka and as a result we have handpicked a selection that we feel confident recommending to our trusted partners. These villas complement the prestigious boutique hotels that we currently represent to the UK travel trade.
“Since our launch in 2014, I’ve been asked many times for recommendations of outstanding villas in Sri Lanka so it is with great pleasure that The Sri Lanka Collection is now launching our ‘Recommended Villas’ listing. I very much hope that this will be a useful resource for our travel trade partners,” commented The Sri Lanka Collection Director Eleanor Milner.
If you have clients looking for a villa in Sri Lanka for a standalone holiday or as an idyllic end to a touring itinerary, we are confident one of our recommended villas will be the perfect fit. You can rest assured that each of the gorgeous privately-owned villas we recommend has been handpicked based on their character, style, location, comfort-factor and service, and really are as good as their photographs suggest. Our aim is to help promote these villas to UK tour operators and the UK travel trade.
Villa stays are fabulous for families and groups of friends, and promise complete privacy and exclusivity. Although Bali and Thailand are well established villa destinations, Sri Lanka is emerging as an exciting new locale for villa holidays. Every year the island sees a scattering of new villas opening in scenic destinations, either right on the coast, on a headland, inland amongst paddy fields or amidst tea plantations. Villas often change hands whilst key staff members come and go, which may alter the experience of a villa stay. As such, our aim is to keep our travel partners informed about any changes at our recommended villas as soon as these happen.
Villas along Sri Lanka’s south coast offer a multitude of attractions nearby, meaning that they are as good for a standalone villa stay of a week or two, as they are as a final destination on a round-the-island tour. Galle is a busy location with great beaches, a historic Dutch fort full of shops, restaurants and historic sights, a lush inland scene ripe for cycling and kayaking adventures, ancient temples and lowland tea plantations. Bentota, on the island’s west coast is famed for its long beaches, water sports and temples while Tangalle, further south, is more relaxed, less developed and wild – national parks such as Yala and Udawalawe are easily visited on day visits.
