Three aircraft were diverted to the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Airport at Mattala yesterday due to misty conditions at the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake.
The flights that were scheduled to land at Katunayake between 5 and 6 a.m. yesterday and were diverted to Mattala were SriLankan Airlines flights UL 869 and UL 218 from Beijing and Doha and FlyDubai flight FZ551 from Dubai. The aircraft went back to BIA after improved weather.
