Travelon introduces Vietnam style ‘war tourism’ packages to Mullaitivu

Vietnam showcasing its Cu Chi Tunnels is called ‘war tourism’. Sri Lankans call it ‘war remnants’ of the 30 year long battle with the LTTE which ended in the Mullaitivu and Nanthikadal areas in 2009.



 The third tour to Mullaitivu will take place on 6 March, spanning two nights and three days.

Day one will consist of a direct transfer from Colombo to Mullaitivu with a lunch break at the Medawachchiya Rest House (CHC branding).

The group will travel via Vavuniya, Omanthai, Puliyankulam, Nadunkeni and Oddusudan to reach Mullaitivu.

The next day will comprise visiting all war zones – Nanthikadal Lagoon, Vellamullivaikkal, Pudumathalan and Puthukuduirrippu, among others.

The tour will start with the ‘prize visit’ to the pirated ship M.V. Farah, Parabhakaran’s house equipped with a four tier bunker, Soosai’s house, a shooting range, a swimming pool with a length of 82 feet, unfinished submarines, submarine testing pool, sea tiger vessels etc. which will take up the whole day,f from 7 a.m. to dusk.
