A part of the promotion program launched in India, the Turyaa Chennai package targets to attract Sri Lankan tourists to Chennai. Turyaa Chennai which belongs to the Aitken Spence is a five-star hotel.
Turyaa Chennai offers the comforts, facilities and professionalism equal to the Turyaa Kalutara. The package is designed to tap the local tourists who are interested in shopping in India and also for those who want to have a relaxing holiday to get away from the hustle and bustle of the life.
This package, which means ‘pay for two nights and stay for three nights’, offers an exclusive opportunity, where the Aitken Spence will sponsor the third night for their guests at Turyaa Chennai.
This package is launched by the Aitken Spence as a joint initiative with Mihin Air, which is directly flying to Chennai, to facilitate the local tourists.
Turyaa Chennai Front Office Manager Mohit Rajawat said that the hotel is geared professionally to welcome the Sri Lankan guests, who seek relaxation plus shopping in famous Chennai malls.
The hotel is built on a concept of a tree showing the tree barks as the main pillars of the hotels. Its main wall is decorated with neon coloured electric design of a Kalpa Raksha tree. According to the Hindu mythology the Kalpa Raksha tree will make one’s wish, when he makes a wish under that tree.
“We want to give something excusive for our guests. That is why we have the Kalpa Raksha tree and the Sen garden to feel them relax when entering the Hotel,” he said showing the automatically playing piano that gives soothing music around-the-clock.
According to Rajawat, the quests can reached the hotel within 45-minutes from the Chennai Airport and the rest of the day they can enjoy shopping in popular malls – Phenix, one of the biggest shopping malls in Chennai and the Big Bazzar.
The tourists can hop into tuk-tuks in Chennai, which is cheap and enjoyable, to get into one of the shopping malls.
The IT Park is also in the close proximity of the hotel.
If Sri Lankan tourists wish to watch a Kollywood movie they can go to the Cinema Hall in Phenix shopping mall, which sells all the international brands and also has a large food court with different kinds of dishes.
“Vellachcheli has a local market to buy local products. There is a wide range of food parlours from KFC to South Indian restaurants specialising authentic Tamil Nadu cuisine,” he explained saying that the package is uniquely designed for the Sri Lankans to explore Chennai.
The beautiful Mahabalipuram beach, the UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a temple is a tourist attraction in Chennai. The beach is a perfect site for relaxation and also to taste fresh fried fish with tasty masala.
“There are many local restaurants along the beach and it is ideal for a day trip as it is a one-and-half hour drive from the Turyaa Chennai,” Rajawat said.
