Moamed Umar Maniku has been appointed Chairman of Mahaweli Reach Hotels PLC with effect from 31 May, the company announced on Monday.
Maniku succeeded L.R. Panabokke, founder Director and Chairperson of the company, who passed away in April 2012.
Maniku represents interest of Maldives’ Universal Enterprises Ltd., which owns a 69.5% stake in Mahaweli Reach.
Following the new appointment, the Board of Directors of Mahaweli Reach Hotels comprises M.U. Maniku (Chairman), Jayantha Panabokke (Managing Director), Ahmed M. Didi, Abbas Esufally, Priyantha Hettiaratchi, M. Mahir, Dr. Ibrahim U Maniku, Ahamed Umar Manim U Maniku, Tissa Molligoda, Ali Noordeen, Charitha Ratwatte, Rienzie T. Wijetilleke and R. Seevaratnam.
