Who says green tea is only for drinking? Now you can eat it too! Let MLH give you a Matcha green tea experience like no other.
We are all part of the hype about green tea being good for us. Fortunately, MLH has done its homework and has now taken on what many in Japan have known for centuries : to get the full benefits of the green tea plant, the maximum impact, you have to “get the best and drink and indeed eat it whole”: Matcha.
Well MLH is going completely Matcha and it is all about green tea from 13 to 19 June 2011 at the Governors Restaurant.
Anura Dewapura said: “Rather than just drinking green tea leaf-infused water, when you consume Matcha, you’re actually getting the whole green tea leaf, so you’re drinking or even eating the full benefits of the best of the green tea leaf.”
But here’s the amazing thing that many don’t know: MLH has taken the Matcha green tea and is serving up a storm with a variety of dishes and beverages that are tasty innovative and yes and extremely healthy too. Wow!
Matcha fruit smoothies – ambarella star fruit banana, mango, avocado, guava or tropical mixed fruit, iced Matcha latte – hot matcha latte, frappuccino – strong Matcha green tea served with foamed milk also flavoured with caramel; mocha – coconut, white chocolate, vanilla, gingersnap, almond, spicy, minty Matcha, melon liqueur, crème de menthe green, crème de cocao white, cream mint leaves and cherry, Zen green tea liqueur and melon liqueur, are a few to mention from the beverage menu.
Some of the healthy and delectable dishes to be savoured are tea smoked salmon Carpaccio, Matcha ‘pearls,’ local clams cooked in a broth of green tea, garlic, peppercorns and fresh herbs served with crusty French bread, lagoon prawns with green tea sauce and cucumber-pepper salsa, green tea noodles with tempura of tofu, miso broth and toasted nori, green tea nori wrapped rare tuna on wok fried sesame green vegetables, sesame crusted filet of modha, green tea tapioca pearls and asparagus spears with a spiced mushroom-tea broth.
The desserts include green tea and cinnamon smoked filet mignon with wild mushroom and green tea arancini with balsamic glaze, decadent green tea cheesecake with bittersweet chocolate curls and trio of mini green tea iced cupcakes.
