VIPs at the Taj Samudra Colombo

The latest check-ins done for VIPs at the Samudra includes two of the most powerful men in the world. Although they need no introduction to positions they hold or have held with governments, insights in to travel patterns of these VIPs are new and interesting.



Mr. Somanahalli Mas-llaiah Krishna born 1 May 1932, generally referred to as S. M. Krishna, is widely known as the Minister of External Affairs to the Indian government.

Dr. Avul Pakir Jain-ulabdeen Abdul Kalam born 15 October 1931, usually referred to as A. P. J. Abdul Kalam is universally celebrated for his contributions in the aerospace engineering field, his services as chancellor to the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology and more importantly for serving as the 11th President to the Republic of India from 2002 to 2007.

Taj Samdura Colombo was proud to have served two of the most remarkable individuals during their travel to Colombo.

Whilst planning the accommodation arrangements it was informed that both these leaders paid extra attention to their dietary needs and food intake.

Being vegetarians, they both chose south Indian cuisine for their meals and preferred low fat, less sugar or splenda in their desserts and beverages. South Indian cuisine features coconut water and milk in most their dishes and possess an easy to digest quality to it when comparing with most other cuisines.

Among busy schedules and top urgent topics, it was noted that health and life was not forgotten by these great leaders.
