The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) was the ultimate choice for Erandi Kanchana, last year’s GCE Advanced Level’s island first in the commerce stream, who chose the institute to follow her ambitious dreams of becoming a globally sought after Chartered Accountant. “From the inception I always wanted to become a chartered accountant and hence I chose CA Sri Lanka because of its prestigious standing in the accounting world and because it is recognised even abroad,” she said. Kanchana, who has already commenced her studies in chartered accountancy at CA Sri Lanka, noted that chartered accountants enjoyed unlimited job opportunities all over the world and unlike most other professions, they enjoy job security. “I chose to follow my career ambition at CA Sri Lanka because it is not only respected but is also a reputed institute which has been in existence for many years and I am confident I can realise my ambition by studying here,” she added. Kanchana, a student of Rathnawali Balika Vidyalaya, Gampaha obtained three As with a Z-score of 2.7138 at the Advanced Level examination. Speaking on her achievements at the GCE Advanced Level examination, Kanchana said that her determined, commitment and dedication to studies were the reason for her triumph. “From the very beginning I studied hard and concentrated on my studies to the utmost, with the aim of achieving exceptional results at the exams, and I believe I owe it to my hard work for the results I got at the ALs,” she said. In its capacity as one of the largest tertiary education providers in the country, CA Sri Lanka last year recorded its highest-ever student registrations in a single year in its 54-year-old history with over 12,000 new students registering for the institute’s flagship professional program in chartered accountancy. At present, CA Sri Lanka has an active student base of over 44,000 who are currently aspiring to be chartered accountants.
