The Master Mind Quiz Competition, organised by the General Knowledge Club of Lyceum International School Nugegoda, was held on 3 April at the school Bellerophon Hall. The Event was organised for the 6th consecutive occasion, this time being sponsored mainly by People’s Merchant Finance PLC, who this year was the patron of the Championship Trophy.

Indian Institute of Hardware Technology (IIHT) and Gihan’s Sea Food were the secondary sponsors of the Event, while Sri Lanka Telecom and Mercury Institute of Management served as co-sponsors. IIHT offered eligibility for 50% scholarships to all students who participated in the Event, as well as 75% scholarships to the team members of the top three schools.

Master-Mind 2013 saw the participation of more than 20 schools from across the island, including Sri Sumangala Vidyalaya Panadura, Trinity College Kandy and Richmond College Galle. One of the chief highlights of this year’s event was the presence of veteran journalist and consultant Edwin Ariyadasa as Chief Guest of the Event.

The Final Round of the show had Ananda College and Royal College facing off each other. Ananda College easily managed to clinch a victory in this year’s Competition and became winners of the People’s Merchant Challenge Trophy.
